Machine Safety
If you have ever worked with or near machines, you know that there are a number of things that can go wrong causing injury. These injuries range from minor injuries like pinched fingers, to much larger injuries, and sometimes even death. The time to evaluate the safety of your workplace is not after an incident like this happens.
Understanding safety is one of the things that our engineers here at Alpine Engineering and Design excel at. We have a number of certified safety professionals who help companies ensure that their products and work environments are safe. In-fact, we do this on a daily basis. You can learn more about the services we provide here.
There are a number of different processes that you can go through to make sure that your designs are safe. One of the processes that we use is called FEA or Finite Element Analysis.
What is Finite Element Analysis or FEA?
Finite Element Analysis, often referred to as FEA is a computational tool for performing engineering analysis. Finite Element Analysis is extremely helpful in providing stiffness and strength visualizations. FEA can also be very helpful in minimizing weight, material and costs. Designing a product without performing FEA can present a number of different problems in the future. Structural failure is not something that you want to have happen after your product is in production. Structural failure can leave you chasing your tail trying to change the design. In some circumstances structural failure can even wind you up in a lawsuit. Learn why we are your best option for FEA here.
What are the Benefits of FEA?
Finite Element Analysis provides a visualization of where structures bend or twist and gives insight into stress distribution and displacements. Simulations and computational time requirements can be managed to address most engineering applications.
This allows your designs to be constructed, refined and optimized before you get to the manufacturing stage. While this can add to the cost of designing a product, it will save you money in the long run. Not only will it save you money, it will provide you peace of mind knowing that your product will hold up to its intended use.
FEA significantly decreases the time to take products from concept to production because it significantly improves the prototype design. This means fewer modifications to the original prototype. Having FEA done on your designs means that your designs can be developed faster, that they will cost you less to manufacture, and that they will be safer than if you had done the design without FEA.
Understanding OSHA Requirements
There are a number of regulations surrounding machinery and safe work spaces. Understanding all of these can be difficult, even if you know about them.
Our engineers have advanced training and experience regarding OSHA regulations. This allows them to help businesses address possible concerns before they ever happen.
Companies all across the United States have used our services to help them determine the safety of their products and or work places. If you are interested in learning more about our safety services, give us a call today at (801)763-8484.
